About Andrea Kimi Antonelli

Andrea Kimi Antonelli currently races alongside the accomplished Prema Racing squad in the Formula 2 Championship. Antonelli is affiliated with the Mercedes junior driver program since April 2019. Kimi was born in Bologna, Italy, on August 25, 2006.

Kimi initiated his karting journey at the age of 7 and has already secured numerous championships in the karting category. He has achieved significant victories at the Easykart International Grand Final (Easy 60), South Garda Winter Cup, WSK Super Master Series, WSK Euro Series, and the 2020 CIK-FIA Karting European Championship.

In 2021, he transitioned from karting to single-seater racing. Prior to this shift, he clinched the CIK-FIA Karting European Championship for the second consecutive year. Remarkably, shortly after turning 15, Kimi joined the Italian Formula 4 championship with Prema Racing for the final three rounds of the series. He garnered widespread admiration for his impressive speed, securing some podium finishes.

In 2022, Kimi embarked on a full campaign in both the Italian F4 championship and ADAC F4 championship, where he established dominance alongside Prema Racing. Notably, Antonelli also competed in the FIA Motorsport Games in the Formula 4 category, triumphing despite a fractured wrist.

In 2023, he became champion of the Formula Regional Middle East Championship (FRMEC) and Formula Regional European Championship By Alpine (FRECA), emerging victorious in FRECA with one round to go.
